Tom Morello brought his politically focused rock to late-night television Tuesday, performing Soldier in the Army of Love on Jimmy Kimmel Live! During the show’s New York Week.

The performance followed the September 25 release of Morello’s new solo album, Everyone Gets Everything They Want. Soldier in the Army of Love, recorded with his son Roman Morello, appears on the 12-track collection and continues the guitarist’s longstanding connection between music and political activism.

Best known as the guitarist and co-founder of Rage Against the Machine, Morello has combined music and activism throughout his decades-long career. The new project features guest appearances from Serj Tankian, Kneecap, and Beartooth, with Roman Morello co-writing five of the tracks.

Morello is also preparing for the Power to the People Festival on October 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. The event brings musicians and activists together for a day centered on live music, community action, peace, and justice.
